Go Into Franchise Business, Youths Told

MUAR: Malaysian youths should venture into the franchise business to increase their income, Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Razali Ibrahim said.

“They should not fear taking up business ventures or franchises,” he said.

For a start, he said they could look into small-scale businesses such as food products.

“We can start selling items produced locally but with limited market such as gravy for mee bandung or even nasi briyani,” he told reporters after launching the Johor-level 1Malaysia franchise roadshow here yesterday.

Razali said Permodalan Nasional Berhad would provide the necessary assistance including financial and technical aid.

Razali, who is also Umno Youth deputy chief, said the wing had started to push for economic development programmes, which included franchising businesses.

He said the wing no longer focused on “ordinary issues”.
